Little Friends

Michaela's first day of little friends nursery school, she goes every Tuesday for 3 hours, they made placemats today with their handprints, so cute. The teacher said she had a great day.

France Sept 08

We had an amazing family vacation to France where we stayed with good friends in the most fabulous french villa. We managed to see some beautiful areas along the coast, including Saint Tropez, Monaco, Antibes, Cannes, Tour Tour (a little Medieval town). Our place was in the countryside in a little town called Saint Antinon, where they had the most beautiful wineries, the wine was fabulous. Michaela did not try the wine but absolutely loved the beaches. The roads were narrow and windy and the driving was insane. Michaela was a fabulous traveller, almost 30 hours of travelling both ways, she had motion sickness from the plane and the roads, we felt so bad for the little one, however after a couple days she was over it and having a ball.

Camping in the new trailer

In Alberta cottage life is with a trailer, so we decided to buy a pop up trailer and go camping for labour day weekend with Aunt Christa and Uncle Andy. Michaela loved being outdoors and the trailer was a hit. Camping in Caroline Alberta, cute Museum, coyotes and fun times. As you can see by the attire it was a little chilly.

17 months and WALKING!!!

It took her a while but she wanted to make sure she was doing it right! She started walking on her own at 17 months, no more knee walking.

Ontario in June and July long weekend

Walking on knees

Michaela has taken a liking to walking on her knees, she can hold things, run, and scoot pretty fast all while on her knees. We just got back from a 2 week vacation in Ontario to see family and this was quite entertaining to all. Myself, started to get a little worried as she is now almost 16 months and still prefers to walk on her knees. She started to pull herself up and cruise the furniture about 2 weeks ago, thank goodness, so I am starting to feel that this is just a stepping stone towards her walking, however will have to be patient. We went camping in Kananaskis for Canada day weekend and then came back and celebrated at the legislation buildings.

13 Months!

13 months and no she is not walking, Ok Ok I know I need to be patient. It is amazing how many people ask you if she walks yet..

She is definately becoming her own little person, I really believe that there has been a big change from even 12 months to 13 months. She thinks she is a dog, growling, crawling around and banging into Jasper for fun and when she does she growls some more. She repeats the word "wolf, wolf" when she sees a dog. Jasper loves her too as she feeds him most of her her food, Mickey has become quite the picky little eater. I have tried a ton of variety, sometimes she eats something sometimes she doesn't! She surely understands that she is the boss. She has even started throwing little temper tantrums when she does not get what she wants. We try not to laugh and encourage her to stop with a distraction which helps until the next time she wants something.

She is still my sweet little angel though, loves to dance, loves to hug, and even gives the best kisses ever.
She says...
Dada
Mama..when she is upset
woof woof
baby..sometimes
quack quack..for duck

She understands quite a bit too
No and tata
I am going to get you..she loves it!
Jasper
Dog
Ball
Head
Nose
Feet

Probably more but have not figured them out yet...

Michaela turns One!

Michaela had her first Birthday on March 7th. I made her a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and she opened up the many gifts she recieved from family and friends. Michaela came down with a terrible cold the night before her birthday, this made it hard for Mickey to even get a present open without putting her head down in her blanket, it was so cute and so sad at the same time. We waited until morning to open presents and even then she really wanted nothing to do with them or the cake I made her. I was dying I really wanted that shot of the bday cake and candle!

On Sunday she was feeling a little better and we celebrated with friends at Build a Bear. She had a good time despite feeling sick, she named her bear "honey". It was fun.

11 Months

The countdown is on and Michaela will be 1 years old in less than a month. She has mastered the art of crawling, she follows Jasper around the house. She loves her toys and measuring cups have to be her favorite. She has a great appetite and her favorite fruit is cantoloupe. I find it truly fascinating the way she hugs her stuffed animals, she gives it her all, and puts her whole heart into it. We joined a family club which will hopefully help us meet some more people in this new city. Michaela stayed in the daycare for more than an hour yesterday, and as a proud Mom I must report they said she was one of the best babies they have ever had. I agree...

10 Months

Start of a new year and Michaela is 18 pounds and 27.5 inches. We are getting back to our classes and she is learning more and more each day. Every morning we find Michaela sitting up in her crib playing, time to lower the crib!

First Christmas - 9 months

Christmas was an exciting time with an initial celebration with Aunt Christa and Uncle Andrew and Cousin Adam. We had a turkey and exchanged presents. Michaela got the most beautiful chandelier from her Aunt and Uncle and lot's of presents from Mom and Dad. We then headed to Ontario for Christmas and New Years. We saw both Nana's and Grandpa's and had so much fun hanging out with all of Michaela's cute cousins. Michaela had her first ride on the ice! We had a wonderful time and it was amazing to share our first Christmas with our beautiful baby girl.
